The Best Suppressors for the Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro
May 20, 2026Posted by derrek.sigler
When Sprigfield released the Hellcat, there was a run on them at just about every gun store around the country. It was for a good reason, too. You get a micro-compact carry pistol with a 13+1 capacity. The Hellcat Pro offers a larger frame with a slim build, making it perfect for those who still want an easy-carrying pistol, but with a larger frame. An added plus is that the Hellcat Pro is available with a threaded barrel, making it a great pistol for carry and for shooting suppressed. But what are the best suppressors for the Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro? You’ve come to the right place.
What about the compact Hellcat?
There are plenty of options for threaded barrels for the compact Hellcat. Our favorite comes right from Springfield with their threaded compensator drop-in barrel. This gives you a 3.8-inch barrel with a screw-on compensator. You can run the compensator when you carry and quickly swap it out for a suppressor. The suppressors we include in this guide will work with either version of the Hellcat and Hellcat Pro.
Suppressor options for the Hellcat PRO
The BANISH 9 really made the Hellcat Pro quiet, I added the Coast BRKR light and will likely add a Vortex red dot soon. Photo by author.
When looking at the best suppressors for the Hellcat, there are a lot to choose from. There are a lot of options for 9mm suppressors, but you want something that fits with the Hellcat and Hellcat Pro frame sizes. These are slim, compact pistols, so weight and balance is a big issue.
Dead Air Mojave 9
The two-piece modular design of the popular Dead Air Mojave 9 lets you customize the levels of sound reduction or go to a lower size and weight, making it more versatile to fit your Hellcat and preferences. The Mojave 9 uses their .Triskelion baffle system. It is full-auto rated so you know it can take a lot of firing. And, it comes with a 1/2x28 piston mount. For the Hellcat, this is a great option.
The Rugged Obsidian9 is another popular suppressor. It was designed to offer additional suppression while staying lightweight and compact. Rugged's ADAPT Module gives users the option to utilize two lengths and is perfect for pistols, like the Hellcat Pro due to its slim diameter of 1.37 inches, allowing for efficient use of pistol sights. This is a big plus with the Hellcat Pro, as I feel it has outstanding sights.
Length: 4.8 in. - 7.8 in.
Weight: 8.7 oz. - 12.7 oz.
Materials: 17-4 Stainless Steel Baffles, Main tube is Aluminum
The BANISH 9K is the ultimate 9mm suppressor for compact pistols. It is made from 100% high-grade titanium for amazing strength and lightweight. The 3D-printed 9K is just 4.1 inches long and has a diameter of just 1.3 inches, making it one of the most compact 9mm suppressors available. It weighs just 2.7 ounces. The 9K does like to be shot with heavier ammo, so skip the 115-grain target loads and get something around 147-grain weight for better action. That, or swap out the recoil spring in the Hellcat for a lighter one. Learn more aboutreliable cycling here.
The popular SilencerCo Spectre 9K redefines compact suppressor performance by delivering elite sound suppression in one of the lightest, smallest packages available for 9mm, making it a great choice for your Springfield Hellcat. Constructed entirely from durable Grade 5 and Grade 9 titanium, this suppressor weighs just over 3.1 ounces and measures a mere 3.69 inches in overall length, making it ideally suited for lightweight builds and minimal-profile pistol caliber carbines. Its sleek design maintains a low profile without sacrificing strength. It is compatible with SilencerCo’s Alpha and 3-lug mounting system, and comes with a Spectre 9 piston housing.
The BANISH 9 may well be the quietest 9mm suppressor you can get. It has a 34 dB sound reduction and yet is compact and slim, making it a great choice for the Hellcat Pro. Part of the size reduction comes from the revolutionary BANISH Micro Booster (Patent Pending). The 1/2x28 threaded Micro Booster keeps the size down while keeping your 9mm pistol running smoothly. It comes in black or FDE Cerekote.
The Springfield Hellcat Pro is ultra-slim and fits great in the hand. You can get it with a threaded barrel and when carried, the Tridium U-Dot sights are fantastic. Photo by Author.
I had the opportunity to test the Hellcat Pro back-to-back with the Springfield Echelon. I really like both pistols immensely. They have a thicker trigger than I am used to, but once you get used to it (and that doesn't take long) they feel great. The break crisply and fire tests proved accuracy is outstanding for a 9mm pistol.
The Hellcat Pro wins bonus points for several things. It is a slim pistol and yet considered full size, but that is almost a disservice. It comes with a 15-round magazine and an extended 17-round magazine. The fit in my hand is amazing and it has a sturdy grip, so you feel controlled with your shots. The Tridium U-Dot sights are nearly perfect, and it has a slide cutout for a red dot. Either way you go would great for me.
Hell-Cans
The BANISH 9K did a great job for a K-can suppressor. Just run a heavier bullet weight or swap the recoil spring for better cycling. I opted for heavier bullets in factory loads and had no issues. Photo by author.
I have shot it extensively with the BANISH 9 and BANISH 9K. The 9 really quiets the pistol down. I was shooting subs with it and man... It's REALLY quiet. The 9K was also great - with heavier ammo. I tried it with some light 115-grain target loads and that was a big nope. It jammed after a few shots. I switched to a heavier 147-grain load from Hornady that worked flawlessly. The only problem there is that those loads are not exactly cheap, so running drills gets expensive. My local gun shop doesn't mind, though. They have plenty to sell me and are more than happy to do it.
Ready to buy a silencer?
Speaking of a shop that is more than happy to sell you things, Silencer Central is the best place to buy a suppressor - hands down! You can say, "sure, but you work there." Employees have to go through the same buying process that you do. I can say for a fact that this is the simplest way to buy a suppressor. They make it easy and painless. You can pick out a can, fill out some paperwork online, and do it all from your couch. They ship the suppressor to your door when you're approved. It's that easy!
Yes, you will need to add a threaded barrel to most models of the Hellcat and Hellcat Pro, although the Pro does now include a threaded option. There are several good places to find a threaded barrel that will drop in
Because the Hellcat is a tilted barrel action, the added weight of a suppressor can cause cycling issues if you are using a suppressor without a Nielsen Device (piston). You can use lightweight suppressors without a piston, like the BANISH 9K if you use heavier ammo, or do a spring swap.
You'll need to use a super small-diameter suppressor to still use your iron (open) sights. If you have a slide cut out, you can add a red dot, which helps with target acquisition.
A suppressor often makes every gun run a little dirtier. You will need to adjust your cleaning schedule to make sure the pistol runs clean.
Suppressors are perfectly legal in the 42 states that allow suppressor ownership. We have not heard of any of these states not allowing concealed carry for a suppressor, although actually carrying one would be rather tricky. If you want to try it, we suggest checking with your local law enforcement agency to be sure.
While many suppressors can be used on several different caliber firearms, we have some specific models that can make your shooting more enjoyable. Pick the caliber that you have in mind. If you don’t see your caliber, pick one close to it to see our recommendations.
