The Best Modular Suppressors for Multi-Caliber Versatility

A suppressor represents a significant investment in your shooting enjoyment, and the idea that one suppressor can be used for many firearms is appealing, making modular suppressors an ideal option for some.Silencer Central has one of the best selections of modular suppressors available anywhere. Looking for the best modular suppressors for 226 and beyond? We’ve got you covered.

What is a modular suppressor?

I’m glad you asked because it might seem a bit weird for those who aren’t quite sure. A modular suppressor is one that has an adjustable amount of baffles that can be added or subtracted thanks to a module that attaches to the end of the main tube.

With a modular suppressor, you can have the suppressor at full length for maximum sound reduction, or you can use the shorter version for added maneuverability. Some users will use the longer version for their main rifle and then shorten the suppressor for a rimfire or pistol. It gives you options and adds to the overall value of your suppressor to you when you can use one can for multiple firearms and have it be the optimal lengthand weight for your use.

The Best Modular Suppressors

We used our experience shooting these suppressors during testing, talked to industry experts, and used our best resource – our customers – to determine which modular suppressors made this list.

What our customers say:

"There are so many options out there these days it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Silencerco has been around for a while and it shows in the materials chosen, quality of build, and price point on the 36m. I got a 556 flash hider end cap for mine and I can shoot 556 without hearing protection. I love the asr flash hider mounts for their simplicity and locking collar that keeps it in place while rapid firing.

If you are looking for your first, second, or 10th suppressor you will not be disappointed with this one. Exceptional quality. On top of this, Silencer Central is a great company who made the whole process very very simple. I was easily able to do my own form 1 for a sbr with the trust they provided for free with my purchase of the 36m. Highly recommend both Silencer Co and Silencer Central." - Alexander R.

What to look for in a modular Suppressor

When you're looking to add a modular suppressor to your firearms, there are a couple of things to keep in mind when picking the one that is right for you. You should always keep your caliber in mind. With a modular suppressor, the key is versatility, so you might want to opt for one that can handle multiple caliber firearms that you own. This will allow you to adapt the suppressor to work with more than one of your firearms.

Keep in mind whether or not the suppressor is serviceable. When you can adapt the suppressor to work in multiple configurations, you will need to at the very least, keep it clean so it runs correctly and safely every time.

Also look at how it mounts to the firearm. There are so many mounting options on the market. You may need to get several different mounts to make the suppressor work with all of your firearms.

Finally, keep in mind how you plan to use the suppressor. If you don't need full auto ratings, and want lighter weight, check out the cans that fit that mold. If durability is key, there are modular suppressors that fit that bill, too.
