A little 5.7 history

In 1998, the introduction of the FN Five-seveN handgun brought the 5.7x28mm cartridge into a smaller overall package and changed the way many people thought about the little bottleneck round. Today, offerings in 5.7 have branched out to include companies like Smith & Wesson, Ruger, CMMG, Keltec, and others.
