The Best 5.7 Suppressors For Pistols 2023
While the 5.7x28mm cartridge may not be the first caliber that comes to mind when thinking of pistols, it’s definitely worked its way closer to the front of mind than when it was introduced in 1990.
Initially designed for use in personal defense weapons, or PDWs, the cartridge was developed by FN for use with their FN P90. In 1998, the introduction of the FN Five-seveN handgun brought the 5.7 cartridge into a smaller overall package and changed the way many people thought about the little bottleneck round.
Today, offerings in 5.7 have branched out to include companies like Ruger, CMMG, Keltec, and others.
If you really want to have a fun time shooting the 5.7, you need to do it suppressed. One of the coolest things about the 5.7x28mm cartridge is that it can be paired up with many – but not all – of the rimfire suppressors that are readily available today.
That’s why we put together a list of our picks for the best suppressors (more specifically, rimfire suppressors) that are compatible with the FN 5.7 cartridge. We chose to stick specifically with rimfire suppressors because they are generally more affordable than larger, centerfire suppressors that are also compatible.

We designed the Banish 22 to maximize your time shooting and minimize your time cleaning. Inside the tube are eight baffles that are engineered for a precise fit to keep lead debris and carbon buildup at an absolute minimum. This prevents the debris and buildup from reaching the tube, which causes components to fuse together.
Testing with the Banish 22 shows that it brings down the report of a shot down to 113 decibels, or barely more than a BB gun.
The Banish 22 is made entirely of titanium. That is, both the tube and the eight individual baffles are all made from it. While the baffles are left bright, the tube is finished in GunKote.
The suppressor is a compact powerhouse, coming in at just 5 3/8” long, only 1” in diameter, and weighing a mere 4.1 ounces.
This silencer can be used on calibers as small as .17WSM and .17HMR and up to the 5.7x28mm cartridge, so go ahead and use it on your Five-seveN, PS90, and more!
Banish 22 Specs:
- Weight: 4.1 oz
- Length: 5 3/8″

Dead Air MASK-HD
Dead Air’s MASK-HD allows for easy disassembly from both ends for easy cleaning. Plus, with its compressed-K configuration, it’s a compact unit that has excellent sound suppression, almost no first-round pop, and runs about as clean as you can get from a rimfire suppressor.
Made from titanium and 17-4 PH stainless steel construction, this direct thread suppressor is compatible with FN 5.7, GSG, P22, and Sig Mosquito adapters for versatile use on multiple host guns.
It’s not the cheapest 5.7 suppressor on the market (or even on this list), but you definitely get what you pay for with the MASK-HD. Dead Air is known for making great suppressors, and this one is no different. You won’t be disappointed.
Dead Air MASK-HD Specs:
- Weight: 6.6 oz
- Length: 5.1″
- Finish: Nitride and Cerakote
- Materials: Titanium and Stainless Steel
- MSRP: $469
According to SilencerCo, the design for the Switchback was “inspired by technology used in rocket and jet propulsion, when oriented in one direction the front section exhibits the most competitive sound reduction on the market for pistols, but when the orientation is flipped the result is unprecedented sound reduction on rifles.”
Tests for the Switchback show that the report is brought down to as low as 108 decibels in its long configuration on a rifle, and down to 142 decibels in its short configuration on a pistol.
The SilencerCo Switchback features stainless steel baffles and a titanium tube with a titanium finish.
The Switchback can be configured at 2 ½”, 3.59”, or 5 ¾”, is just 1.07” in diameter, and weighs 3.2, 4.3, or 6.5 ounces.
Like the Banish 22 and the Dead Air MASK-HD, the Switchback can be used on calibers as small as .17WSM and .17HMR and up to the 5.7x28mm cartridge.
- Weight: 6.5 oz, 4.3 oz, or 3.2 oz
- Length: 5 ¾”, 3.56”, or 2 ½”
- Finish: Titanium
- Materials: Titanium and Stainless Steel
- MSRP: $499
According to SilencerCo, the design for the Sparrow was created “with simplicity, durability, and user serviceability as its core objectives.” Inside is a monolithic core baffle covered with two half tubes that cover and separate it from the outer tube. This design helps the core stay as clean as possible to prevent buildup or fusion. It’s important to note, however, that while the core may be a convenient one-piece design, it’s harder to clean in all the nooks and crannies than separate baffles.
Tests for the Sparrow show that the report is brought down to 112 decibels, which is also just a tiny amount louder than a BB gun. Because of the internal design of the Sparrow, you’ll notice more first-round pop noise than with other options, such as the Banish 22.
The Sparrow is made entirely of stainless steel. Inside the tube are two half tubes that cover a monolithic core. The tube has a black oxide finish.
Like most .22-caliber suppressors, the Sparrow is small. It is only 5.08” long, is just 1.06” in diameter, and weighs 6.5 ounces.
You’re not limited just to .22s here since the Sparrow can be used on calibers as small as .17WSM and .17HMR and up to the 5.7x28mm cartridge.
- Weight: 6.5 oz
- Length: 5.08″
- Finish: Black Oxide
- Materials: Stainless Steel
- MSRP: $374
