The new distribution center allows Silencer Central to centralize inventory, optimize order fulfillment, and improve logistics coordination. Brandon Maddox, CEO and founder of Silencer Central, provides an in-depth tour of their newly completed distribution center located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The center is a major hub for silencer manufacturing and distribution in the Midwest. Central to the facility’s efficiency is a cutting-edge OPEX automated storage and retrieval system, described as a huge vending machine capable of holding 178,000 uniquely serialized silencers. This automation drastically reduces the time and labor required to pick and pack orders, enabling the company to process thousands of orders per hour. 

Inspired by industry leaders like Midway, Silencer Central has integrated advanced order fulfillment methods that assign individual totes to each order, streamlining the packing and shipping process. Additionally, the facility houses modern CNC machines designed to handle tough materials such as titanium, essential for manufacturing durable silencer parts. 

R&D is in the house

The distribution center also includes a newly built indoor gun range for research and development purposes, allowing the company to accelerate the testing and refinement of lighter, quieter, and more compact suppressors. The facility expands office space to accommodate engineering, production, and management teams, providing a modern and comfortable work environment. 

A dedicated gunsmithing area is also featured. It is equipped with CNC lathes for threading barrels, a service Silencer Central has offered for over a decade. The new facility supports Silencer Central’s growth and enhances automation. It ultimately aims to make purchasing silencers more accessible and efficient for customers.
