New Rifles for 2026 – Pre-SHOT Show Edition

Every year starts off with the ultimate trade show for the shooting and hunting industry – SHOT Show. Leading up to and during the show, the firearms manufacturers from around the globe release new models, calibers, and more. It is an exciting time if you’re a firearms enthusiast. Let’s take a look at three of the new rifles we know about so far.

25 Weatherby RPM - New Cartridge

More than just a new rifle, Weatherby released a new cartridge. The 25 WBY RPM is based on a case with a large body diameter, low body taper, and a 35-degree shoulder. Weatherby created the case shape to increase case capacity and give the round better efficiency. It allows the 25 RPM to push higher velocities than other 25 caliber options on the market. They also designed it to work with faster twist barrels to give shooters more bullet options.

Of course, Weatherby has rifles chambered in the new cartridge, and you will find versions of their Model 307 and Mark V, including their sweet 307 Alpine MDT rifle. With the 25 WBY RPM being a long-action cartridge, it will be interesting to see how well it is embraced by the shooting public.

Suppressor suggestion:

The BANISH Backcountry in O.D. Green

Being a .257-caliber cartridge, the perfect fit would be a .30-caliber. With a rifle like the Alpine MDT, a short, light suppressor like a BANISH Backcountry would be ideal. It is only 5.5 inches long and weighs just 7.8 ounces.

Bergara Platinum Stalker Series - New rifles

Bergara is setting new standards for the firearms industry with hyper-accurate rifles. For those that love the traditional feel of wood stocks, the new Platinum Stalker series is creating a buzz.

The Platinum Stalker is a wood stock rifle but with the stiffness and rigidity that comes from being laminated. These rifles have a pepper-colored laminate, weather-resistant Monte Carlo stock. The metal is titanium Cerekote finished with a fluted, 5/8x24 threaded barrel that comes with an Omni muzzle brake. Being a Bergara, these rifles have a sub-MOA guarantee for accuracy, and they are just all-around amazing rifles.

The Bergara Platinum Stalker rifles come in the following caliber options: 25 Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Win, 6.5 PRC, .270 Win, 7MM Rem Mag, 30-06 Springfield, .300 Win Mag, 7 PRC, 300 PRC, and .375 H&H Mag. While all the caliber options look good, it is that last one that really stirs the heart for this author. It has me dreaming of chasing moose on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska.

Suppressor suggestion:

The SilencerCo Hybrid 46M

If we’re talking a .375 H&H, we need a bigger can, like a SilencerCo Hybrid 46M. It is a modular suppressor rated for up to .460 WBY Magnum. In the shorter configuration, it is just 5.78 inches long and weighs only 12.2 ounces. It is made from stainless steel, titanium and Inconel, making it very tough and durable – exactly what you’d want in for a rifle that will head into some tough country.

Ruger Harrier - new rifles

Ruger announced a new rifle to replace the Ruger AR 556 – the Harrier. The harrier is a completely re-engineered line of modern sporting rifles representing the latest evolution in AR-platform rifles. It is manufactured at Ruger's recently acquired Hebron, Kentucky factory. It was designed to deliver superior fit, function, and aftermarket compatibility compared to the previous AR 556 model. Initially, Ruger has two Harrier rifle models chambered in 5.56 NATO.

Suppressor suggestion:

The BANISH 556 in FDE

While there are some sweet new 556 cans on the market, it is hard to overlook the newest BANISH model, the BANISH 556. It is a dedicated 5.56/.223 REM suppressor designed to provide reliable performance across a wide range of rifle setups. Built using a fully additive manufactured Inconel core welded to a stainless-steel blast chamber, it is rated for full-auto fire and designed to manage heat and back pressure effectively.
