The Top Suppressors For .300 PRC

There are several variations of .300 magnum-style cartridges on the market. The classics are the .300 WM, .300 WBY, and .300 H&H, although the H&H isn't as popular these days. The Win Mag 300 is easily the most popular, which brought about some competition in the .300 RUM, which is definitely a big boy caliber that creates a lot of pressure, but again, still doesn't have the popularity. Winchester even tried making their own completion when they created the Short Magnum series, which were basically shorter action rifles with lots of power behind the. They launched with four initial calibers, but in all reality the only one that had any staying power was the .300 WSM. I tend to like the .300 WSM more than the long action original, but that's mostly due to my rifle in that caliber being just stupid accurate with an insane trigger. Just when we all thought that the .300 magnum arena was going to settle down, along came Hornady to say, "not so fast."

Enter The .300 PRC

Hornady introduced the .300 Precision Rifle Cartridge, or .300 PRC, in 2018 with the goal of introducing a cartridge that could hurl a heavy bullet at a fast speed with fantastic accuracy. There's nothing quite like the .300 PRC. In fact, Hornady bills it as "what all 30 caliber magnum cartridges want to be... but can't!"

If you're a long-range shooter or a big game hunter, then there's a good chance that you've shot a rifle chambered in .300 PRC. After all, this round was essentially tailor-made for those applications.

If this is the case, then there's an equally good chance that you know the benefits of shooting the .300 PRC from a rifle equipped with a suppressor. You'll encounter less felt recoil for better shot placement and follow-up shots and, of course, you'll do it all at a much more user-friendly decibel level.
