Explore the top silencers from industry sound reduction testing at the TBAC Sound Summit, where leading manufacturers put their best models head-to-head against the rest of the industry.
What's the TBAC Sound Summit?
Thunder Beast Arms Company (TBAC) started the Silencer Sound Summit in 2023. The goal was to measure the sound performance of its suppressors against other competitors in the industry. Every year, hundreds of suppressors are tested in a controlled, unbiased environment using the same rifles, ammunition, and settings, making for honest and scientific comparison. TBAC then publishes this data and makes it public.
The Off Grid Scorpius is made of 100% titanium and is 3D printed, making it extremely light at just 1.95 oz. It took top honors this year as the quietest rimfire suppressor at the shooter's ear, registering at just 118.73 shooter's ear DBA. It is a direct thread suppressor rated for .17 HMR up to 5.7x28mm.
2nd Quietest .223/5.56 Suppressor at the Shooter’s Ear
SilencerCo Velos LBP 5.56
The Velos LBP is made of a 3D-printed Inconel core, welded to 17-4 stainless steel front and rear modules. It is designed for reduced back pressure on gas-operated rifles compared to others in its class. Measured against 106 other silencers, the Velos was the 2nd quietest .223 suppressor on a 16-in. barrel AR-15 host at shooter’s ear.
Out of 141 competitors in the .308 bolt-action rifle category, the Nomad LTi XC took 2nd place for dB at muzzle, and 4th place for dB at ear, with a 132.6 mil dB average. The Nomad LTi XC is a 3D-printed, ultralight suppressor designed for hunting and precision shooting applications. Its interior is constructed of a two-stage coaxial baffle system with a pressure-harnessing structure that regulates both low-pressure and high-pressure cartridges.
The TBAC Magnus-RR-CB-30 is a welded, full-auto-rated titanium suppressor built for maximum recoil reduction and precision performance, especially for magnum rifle calibers. At the summit, it was the quietest suppressor in the .300 Win Mag category at 136.1 mil dB average, tested against 61 other silencers.
